The Naomi Center

Zach Schnitzer is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). He obtained his Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Global and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Maryland. Professionally, as a registered nurse, Zach has worked in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient facilities, as well as home care services, treating diverse populations. It was in these settings that Zach gained a holistic understanding of patient experiences beyond the context of a brief medical visit.

After noticing the growing need for mental health support among his patient population, Zach decided to advance his career by becoming a PMHNP, with the goal of improving patient lives and increasing access to mental health treatment.

Zach strongly believes in working collaboratively with each patient and emphasizes that every individual should have autonomy regarding their mental health treatment. He aims to provide compassionate care with a nonjudgmental approach, creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing their feelings. Zach treats a range of conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, and thought disorders. He utilizes evidence-based practice guidelines for both prescription and therapeutic management.

Outside of work, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing sports and board games, cooking, and traveling.
